GST services for manufacturers.
Manufacturers juggle input tax credit on raw materials, output tax on finished goods, and often e-way bills on every dispatch.
About GST for manufacturers
Manufacturing is where input tax credit really matters. You pay GST on raw materials, machinery and services, and charge GST on finished goods, the difference is what you remit. Getting classification and ITC right directly protects your working capital.
Most manufactured goods fall at 18%, but essential and intermediate goods can be 5 to 12% and luxury or sin goods 28%. Inverted duty structures, where inputs are taxed higher than output, are common and can lock up refunds if not managed.

Manufacturers GST questions
Is GST registration mandatory for manufacturers?
Yes, once turnover crosses the threshold, and immediately if you make inter-state supplies regardless of turnover. Most manufacturers register from day one to claim input credit.
Can I claim ITC on machinery and raw materials?
Yes. Manufacturers can claim input tax credit on raw materials, consumables, capital goods and most input services used in production, subject to the goods being used for taxable supplies.
What is an inverted duty structure?
It’s when GST on your inputs is higher than GST on your finished goods, common in textiles and some chemicals. The accumulated credit can be claimed as a refund, which we help you file.
When do I need an e-way bill?
For movement of goods worth more than ₹50,000 (intra-state limits vary by state). It must be generated before dispatch and carried with the consignment.
What happens if my supplier doesn’t file their return?
Your input tax credit on those invoices can be denied or reversed. We reconcile your purchases against GSTR-2B every month to catch this early.
Do I have to file an annual return?
Yes, GSTR-9 (and GSTR-9C reconciliation if turnover exceeds the audit threshold). We prepare and file both.
